Valve Sizing Instructions

Cv numbers are valve coefficients that define the maximum capacity of a valve. A valve with a Cv of one has a capacity of one GPM of water at one PSI pressure drop. Gather the indicated information and enter it into the "Control Valve Sizing Calculator". Choose a control valve with a operating Cv between 20 to 80 percent of port opening.

The Triac valve sizing programs have been developed to help you quickly and accurately size Triac valves for both modulating and on-off applications. These programs will not determine when cavitation will occur or the noise level at a specific flow condition. Please contact A-T Controls Inc. for specific information on valve sizing.

If you are running Windows XP operating system or are having trouble running any of the sizing programs, please ensure you are using the latest version of the Java machine at www.java.com/en/index.jsp
